I'm completely losing it.
Today I was handing back quizzes to a class, and I said to one girl, "Did you take your quiz home with you? I don't have it here." "I wasn't here yesterday, Ms. " "Yes you were. Remember, you wanted to be called 'A' instead of 'C' because people were making fun of your name?" "Ms., that was Tuesday. I wasn't here Wednesday. Here, I can show you my pass from the vice principal." Then a bunch of kids started to say that it was Tuesday, not Wednesday. I looked in my grade book, and I hadn't marked her absent the day before. But there in her hand was proof that she wasn't there. I'm obviously losing my short term memory, and that might be the biggest shining example yet (as if forgetting to use an oven mitt to pull a hot metal plate out of the oven wasn't example enough).
The upcoming break will be greatly welcomed.
