And it's only really the first week of school. Actually, today makes exactly one week since kids showed up. And I'm so tired! All I want to do when I get home is take a nap. Then I have to force myself not to make it more than a couple of hours or else I won't be able to sleep at night. I dunno what it is. Am I always this tired at the beginning of the year? I can't remember.
Well, just when I was getting used to have a 90-minute class before lunch they switch it up on me. Now I'll have a different lunch period. We'll do class for 60 mins, lunch for 30 mins, and then (same) class for another 30 mins. Hopefully I'll get them to refocus when they get back from lunch.
Does anyone else have to do study hall as one of your duties? We have a daily study hall (as part of our schedule), and I get soooo bored there. Usually, I'll have papers to grade or plans to make or something, but I haven't been motivated to do that lately, so I've just been sitting with my 7 study hall students and pretty much spacing out because they're so quiet! I know, I know. I should be grateful for the silence, but I've been so bored. Tomorrow I have them during the lunch block. I will be incredibly bored. It's going to drive me insane!
Can't wait 'til our first holiday at the end of this month. Really, I just wish it was Christmas vacation already! I need to sleep!

We don't even have study hall in my district and haven't for years. I am tired too. I fight to stay awake until 9 or 10.
Be grateful--our assignments are work assignments, tutoring, hall patrol, writing college recomenndations, etc....
I was in bed by 9 PM last night. the first week did me in too.
We don't have study hall. But, I do have a split lunch. I normally time it to where they are just starting to work independently when they come back. Then giving them last minute instructions before they leave the room.
Get some rest!!
