Things that annoyed me today:
- Classrooms are barely finished being renovated. Thus, desks were scattered in the rooms (or stacked 3 high in my case) and all technology was disconnected. Check email for daily agenda? Impossible.
- Meetings without an agenda annoy me. Very much so.
- Not having keys to your room or the cabinets makes me nervous. Couldn't really unpack for this reason.
- Hiring a new teacher and failing to give him/her a curriculum guide for classes he/she will teach is ridiculous. Expecting a mentor to fill in all of the gaps while trying to move into a new space is also ridiculous.
- Spending all day in meetings and not providing time for teachers to be in their classrooms is just not right. Don't expect us to be prepared when the kids come in.
- My student-teacher is young and bubbly (but not so much so as to be annoying) and friendly, and I think we'll get along great.
- I like my new room (located near my amiga; has beautiful, large windows; has lots of new electronic gadgets - con: It's further from the bathroom than my old room!)
- I was able to move most of my textbooks into my room. I might need to get more though. *Sigh*
- The new teacher I'm mentoring seems okay too. We won't be besties, but we'll get along, and that's all that matters.
Bah.

Your district sounds like mine--meetings, non-working technology, trainings to do, NO time to work on our classrooms, no textbooks in the classrooms, etc...I just want to be READY!!
