Day 19

So, one of my 2CP classes today was completely fuera de control. I mean, honestly, if I ask you a question, I expect an answer, even if it seems like a redundant question. I had to resort to the, "Okay, since you can't handle talking, I want it completely silent in here, and you can get the grammar explanation from your textbook. Copy it down. Don't say a word." And as they copied it, I wrote up a new seating chart. Then I had them move. Then I lectured them for a good 5 minutes on how they're wasting everyone's time including mine. Starting tomorrow, as I told them, they will sit after school, as a class, for every minute they waste when they come into my room. It's so ridiculous. What I wanted to say was, "Seriously, I know you don't want to do work, but do you really think that my classroom is your social playground? Be quiet and pay attention sometime! I don't do this because I want to learn more Spanish! I KNOW the stuff I'm teaching you already! YOU don't. So open your notebooks, get your pen/pencil in your hand, and act like you have some sense!" Of course I couldn't tell them that. And of course I had to end the class & lecture w/ a positive note. I just hope they're not ridiculous tomorrow. I'm going to be completely exhausted since I'll be bartending tonight until at least midnight. Let's hope they're on their A game tomorrow!
